South Korea context
Earlier data showed that, as of 1 April 2026, 20,876 Uzbek citizens were studying in South Korea — 6.8% of all international students there. This stock figure differs from the nine-month outbound flow: it reflects the total number currently enrolled abroad.
The bigger picture
The statistics point to a decline in outbound study travel. At the same time, independent outlets have reported rising foreign-student interest in Uzbekistan's own universities. The committee's figures are based on border-crossing data and cover trips recorded for educational purposes.
