Uzbekistan has launched a nationwide business census. The procedure for conducting it was approved by Government Resolution No. 557 of 9 October 2026. The census runs from 15 October to 30 November, with a reference date (snapshot) of 1 October at 00:00.
Who is covered
The census covers legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, dehkan farms, the self-employed and businesses operating without state registration. Legal entities self-register via the reporting portal (hisobot.stat.uz) and the self-employed via census.stat.uz; registration officers also visit in person between 9:00 and 18:00. Enquiries are handled via the short number 1851.
Why it is needed
According to the Statistics Committee, the unobserved economy is about 246 trillion soums — roughly 23%. Of 15.2 million employed people, 6.5 million (42%) have incomes that are not fully captured, and one of every four to five soums of turnover sits outside official statistics.
What happens next
Up to 5% of registered entities will undergo sample-based verification within 10 days of the census closing. Final results will be published by 1 September 2027.
