The president reviewed facilities at the Kashkadarya university: new dormitories with 1,300 places, artificial-intelligence and robotics laboratories, and a 1,000-capacity media studio.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Karshi State University and reviewed its teaching buildings, research laboratories and the conditions created for students. The university currently enrols more than 14,000 students and employs 579 faculty members.
Students and housing
The university offers undergraduate and graduate programmes in full-time, part-time and distance formats. Three newly built dormitories added more than 1,300 places, fully meeting students' accommodation needs. The campus also includes a 240-place kindergarten, a library, dining facilities, a youth centre and a conference hall.
Laboratories and disciplines
The International Laboratories Center combines seven laboratories and conducts research in artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics. Four programmes — English philology, mathematics, applied mathematics and physics — hold international accreditation. The university also runs 14 joint educational programmes with universities in Russia and Belarus.
Language centres and services
The Faculty of Languages operates a modern media studio with a capacity of 1,000, along with centres for Chinese, German, French, English and Russian. The president also reviewed the work of the university's Student Services Center. A modern football training ground for the Lochin team has also been built on campus.
Context
The visit took place during the president's working trip to Kashkadarya region, after which the head of state returned to Tashkent. Uzbekistan has been expanding access to higher education in recent years, opening new universities and branches and increasing attention to laboratories, dormitories and international accreditation at regional institutions.
